Mope.io

Survive and climb the food chain, the hit browser game! | Addicting Games Internship

Project Overview

Maintaing a large scale platform with a passionate community

Being 1 of 50 inaugural RBC Gaming Grant winners, I had the opportunity to apply for one of 5 exclusive internship positions with Enthusiast Gaming. This led to me joining Addicting Games, the company behind Type Racer and many of our beloved childhood flash game sites. Here, I joined the Mope.io team to work on gameplay programming and hone my front-end web development skills.

My responsibilities ranged from programming gameplay changes/features, configuring character stats for new game modes, revamping outdated pages and providing QA support, especially during Mope.io’s IOS/Google Play store certification process. During meetings, I was able to provide up-to-date insight on pop culture and current gaming trends to provide and influence new content ideas for future gameplay updates The dev team’s established Agile workflow made use of tools such as Jira, Git and Slack to facilitate proper inter-departmental collaboration.
